Nicole Richie is helping schools go green

Nicole Richie, Amy Smart, Rosario Dawson and other stars are making an effort to keep schools green and environmentally conscious. The Environmental Media Association is partnering with the L.A. Unified School District to bring organic gardens and greenery to urban schools, an effort sponsored by personal care brand Yes To Inc.

The partnership will fund schools, and provide celebrity mentoring through EMA's Young Hollywood Board.

Nicole Richie, Amy Smart, Rosario Dawson, Lance Bass, and other young stars are members of the board that will adopt schools and help raise awareness and stimulate environmental education.

The program is set to launch this summer.

How cool is this for the students in the Los Angeles district!
- There is a chance Nicole Richie may be coming to mentor you at school.
