Yesterday afternoon Nicole Richie was spotted heading over to Beverly Hills to do some shopping..

Nicole Richie was looking fabulous in a pillar box red coat, a black beanie slouch hat, Chanel sunglasses, classic black Christian Louboutin heels, blue skinny jeans and carrying a black with gold hardware Balenciaga bag.
I love how Nicole Richie is channeling the red and black theme.

It is definetly one of my favourite colour combinations & it suits her well! - I think it works well with blonde hair!

Joel Madden speaks openingly about Nicole Richie

It was around this time last year when the media started to become fully aware of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden becoming a serious item in the world of Hollywood.

And now Joel Madden has took time to speak about his relationship with Nicole Richie ..

Nicole Richie and Good Charlotte's Joel Madden may have had a child together, but don't expect them to work together musically.

Madden wrote songs for previous girlfriend Hilary Duff and Richie has been planning an album for the last five years, but Madden won't be involved.

"From day one even as our relationship was finding its own path, we've always said we'll never work together," Madden says. "We've never done a red carpet together, we don't do photo shoots together. The only thing we do together publicly is our charity."

The pair started the Richie/Madden Children's Foundation after becoming parents to daughter Harlow in January this year. They've ploughed money made from selling baby photos to magazines into the charity and have travelled the world for UNICEF.

It's one of the many ways Madden says fatherhood has changed him.

"It's the best thing that ever happened to me," he says. "Pretty much everything everyone says about it, that's the way it is."

Much was written about how the clean-living rock star tamed the wild Nicole Richie, who had a string of drug and drink-driving charges to her name.

Joel Madden says Lionel Richie's daughter has been as much as an influence on him.

"She is the most unpretentious, down-to-earth, accepting person," Madden says. "I think it comes from her childhood of growing up with a super-famous dad. She grew up around Michael Jackson, Prince . . . all these great musicians.

"It's hard to impress her in the sense of money or fame. She's more impressed by who you are as a person. That's how she judges a person's worth.

"She's an open-minded cool person. She's taken a beating from the world for so long that it's given her a really thick skin. She's got my back. Whether the music was all gone, she's there for me and that's great for me to know."

Joel Madden also chats about his musical career with Good Charlotte.

He then also speaks about the paparazzi ..

The placid Madden's even learnt to cope with the paparazzi who stalk his family daily.

"We avoid it as much as possible. When we can't we keep it low key. There were 15 or 20 photographers after us the other day, so I asked them to give us some space. We try to work around it. You have good and bad days.

"The only way to avoid it would be moving out of LA, and neither one of us is ready to do that just yet.

"We know the options, so you can't really complain about it."

So i guess that means Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will not be moving out of Los Angeles!

I think its great to hear Joel Madden chat about Nicole Richie - it gives us a real insight into Nicole Richie. Nicole's real fans know she is a great and funny person but the media does love to portray Nicole Richie as a skinny, party, designer label lover, self centred Beverly Hills 'rich kid'.

You can tell from the pictures we see and how Joel speaks they have a strong relationship and they are made for eachother!

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden enjoy the highs of Magic Mountain

3rd January - Magic Mountain, Valencia.

Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and friends posed for pictures yesterday afternoon whilst enjoying a day out at Magic Mountain fair, in Valencia - California.

The occasion was to celebrate New Year with the children from the Beyond Shelter.

Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and their children's foundation are working with the children at Beyond Shelter to improve their future and quality of life.

They all looked like they had a great time at Magic Mountain!




Nicole Richie's fashion choice's for the day at the fair was spot on.

Nicole Richie wore her classic signature Keith Richards-esque look - a green scarf worn as a headband.

Dark skinny jeans teamed with a long black cardigan. I think the best store to find a Nicole Richie style cardigan or jumper is All Saints.

Nicole Richie brought a staple piece from her 2008 autumn wear a fluxus deep V Burnout 'tee.

I am loving Nicole Richie's moccasin boots with gold hardware.

They are a great choice for this winter weather. For cheaper version's of Minnetonka inspired booties and flats i recommend Urban Outfitters.

To complete the outfit Nicole Richie carried her Balenciaga city bag.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit the January sales

2nd January 2009 - Studio city & Rodeo Drive

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden where spotted out and about in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.

The couple where first seen grabbing lunch in studio city, they then headed to Rodeo Drive to do some shopping!

Chanel may be in a financial crisis right now after having to lay off 200 employees but Nicole Richie shows her dedication and spent her dollars in the Beverly Hills Chanel boutique.

I wonder what she bought!?
Nicole Richie was looking casual in a black fedora, Tom Ford Charles Aviator sunglasses, Skinny jeans and a simple white 'tee under a beige cardigan. Nicole Richie 'jazzed' up the outfit by adding her favourite pair of Givenchy heels and lots of her signature bangles.

Joel Madden was also looking very hot in his grey fedora and plaid shirt.
I love plaid shirts on men, but they are in danger of over saturation. There is so many in the shops right now!

Baby No. 2 for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden ?

If you believe everything Star magazine say then this may interest you as they are reporting that Nicole Richie is looking forward to baby number two!Harlow Winter Kate Madden will soon be celebrating her first birthday with some great news!

Her mother and father have decided to try for another baby.

Star Magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie has convinced Joel Madden to go for child number two.

She's got the itch! :)

"Nicole told Joel that she wants another baby —right away. He was a little overwhelmed at first, but now he's with her 100 percent. They're both thrilled about adding to their family."

Nicole and Joel went through a "rough patch, but now things are amazing between them. Nicole knows it's because they're both so happy with Harlow, and she truly believes another baby will double their commitment."

In order to prepare for the pregnancy, Nicole has begun taking vitamins and even started to design maternity clothing to keep her fashionable during the transformation.

We report that as their daughter Harlow gets ready to celebrate her first birthday, reformed party girl Nicole is taking vitamins, eating healthy and designing trendy maternity wear in preparation for her second pregnancy.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden to leave Los Angeles ..

It is only the 2nd January 2009, yet there is already a new Nicole Richie rumour circulating!

The rumour is suggesting Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning for a spring wedding and then intend to move out of Los Angeles ..

Nicole Richie is planning to marry boyfriend Joel Madden at her dad Lionel's plush Bel Air mansion, according to reports.

Richie and Joel - who welcomed their first child, daughter Harlow Winter, in January 2008 - are said to be planning a spring wedding; and house hunting in the Good Charlotte rocker's native Maryland where the couple hopes to relocate next summer.

A source tells the National Enquirer magazine, "The wedding will be Nicole and Joel's goodbye to Los Angeles.

"Joel really wants to keep the guest list short, but he also understands that Nicole wants one last big party in L.A."

Guests expected to attend include Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, Mary-Kate and Ashlee Olsen, Gwen Stefani and Tobey Maguire.

Joel and Nicole are said to be looking at properties on the Annnapolis and Chesapeake Bay areas of Maryland, about 45 minutes from Waldorf. Madden's mom, Robin, also lives nearby.

The source added, "With Harlow turning 1 soon, Joel really wants her to grow up far from the craziness of L.A.

"Nicole's never lived anywhere but Los Angeles, but she's anxious for a change of scenery and slower pace now that she's a mom and soon-to-be wife.

"Joel can't wait to get out of the L.A. rat race.
"But he and Nicole want to throw a memorable wedding before bolting the big city.

"Nicole's matured tremendously since becoming a mom.

"Her priorities have changed. The wedding is the kickoff to their new life."

To be honest, i doubt they are planning on moving out of LA.

Joel Madden's major project his DCMA collective store is based in Los Angeles.

Nicole Richie's family and friends are all mainly in Los Angeles.

Why would they want to move away?!

Also, i'm sure we are going to hear of the "wedding rumours" all this year. As the gossip websites know they will eventually get it right. As it is inevitable they will eventually get married.

1st January 2009 - Hollywood

It looks like Nicole Richie is back from Hawaii as she spent yesterday with friends.

They where spotted collecting a take out, im guessing this was their catch up time and New Year celebrations.

Nicole Richie wore an orange wool hat, matched with a pair of silk Lanvin flats, accessorised with a classic pair of Ray Ban aviator sunglasses and completed the outfit with her beloved black with gold hardware Balenciaga bag.

Don't you just love how Nicole Richie can wear sunglasses no matter what the weather is like.
I only ever find it acceptable for myself to wear sunglasses if it is .. sunny.
Yet Nicole can wear them sun, rain or snow and still work it well!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

2008 was most definetly Nicole Richie's year -

She proved the media wrong by showing that she and Joel Madden are in it for the long haul.

She introduced her daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden into the world on January 11th 2008

and she even managed to find time to release her own collection of jewellery - House of Harlow 1960.

2009 is only going to get better for Nicole, Joel and Harlow!
